NEW PARISH PASTORAL AREA
At the Mass of Installation of the relic of St. Carlo Acutis last Sunday, Bishop Cullinan announced that after discussions with the four parish councils we are formally uniting our Parishes under the title:
St. CARLO ACUTIS
PARISH PASTORAL AREA
which formally incorporates the parishes of Ardfinnan, Ballybacon, Grange, and Newcastle, Fourmilewater, and Touraneena, The Nire.
This means that while each parish maintains its own parish council and autonomy – we are able to work closer in the day to day administration and liturgical collaboration. Much of the work has already been achieved in the last three years, thanks to all who assist in our individual churches, and it will be much easier to manage and collaborate the upkeep and liturgies of our 7 churches into the future. I take this opportunity to thank our Parish and Finance councils for their support and we look forward to continuing to build on our parish pastoral area maintaining our local parishes and churches collectively for the future.
MISSION SUNDAY – 19TH OCTOBER
This World Mission Sunday is the Holy Father’s annual appeal for spiritual and financial support so that the life-giving work of overseas mission and missionaries can continue.
The theme for this year’s celebration of Mission Sunday is: “Missionaries of Hope Among All Peoples”.
Envelopes are in the weekly boxes, and extra envelopes will be available in the church porches. Thanks for your support for those in our Missionary Countries.
BALLYMACARBRY COMMUNITY
The local Parish Support Network will host an “End of Harvest Cuppa & Chat” at Ballymacarbry Community Centre on Sunday 26th October immediately after 9 am Mass. This follows on from two similar gatherings already in 2025. Light refreshments will be served. Please spread the word. All are welcome.
