There will be no Mass on Wednesday or Thursday this week.
CONFIRMATION DAY
On Tuesday, students from Touraneena, Ballymacarbry and Newcastle Schools celebrate their Confirmation in the respective parish churches.
We welcome Bishop Cullinan who will celebrate these with us and bestow the Sacrament on our young parishioners. We wish them every good wish and blessing on this special day in their faith journey, and pray they will receive and use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to enhance the parish, their families, and their futures.
THOUGHTS FOR THIS SUNDAY WITH
ST CARLO ACUTIS
In the Third Week of Lent, we are challenged to open our hearts to God’s transformative grace, letting go of pride, self-righteousness, and division. We are constantly reminded of the need for repentance, humility, and a commitment to God’s law of love. Jesus calls us to reflect on our inner lives, focusing on the fruits of repentance and living with integrity. Through humility in prayer, love of God, and love of neighbour, we are invited to align our lives with His will.
St Carlo said :”If you can, confess each week, even your venial sins.” Frequent confession, strongly recommended by the Church, forms our conscience, combats evil tendencies, and receives Christ’s transformative and healing mercy, spurring us to be merciful as the Father is. Venial sins, though not severing grace, weaken us; but regular confession of them strengthens transformation and spiritual progress.

COFFEE MORNING – NEWCASTLE Muintir na Tire Community Council will host a Tea/Coffee Morning in the community hall on Saturday morning 14th. March, from 9.30 to 12 noon. Donations on the day plus raffle. Gluten free goodies available. Donation of homemade goodies would be very welcome. All proceeds donated to Clonmel Daffodil Day Group for the Irish Cancer Society.
AGM – NEWCASTLE MUINTIR NA TIRE COMMUNITY COUNCIL will hold its AGM on Wednesday night March 18th at 8 pm in the New Room of the community hall. Your presence on the night would be very welcome. Light refreshments served.
