35TH BIRTHDAY REMEMBRANCE
Mass to Celebrate the 35th Birthday Remembrance of St Carlo Acutis will take place on Sunday 3rd May at 12pm in Holy Family Church, Ardfinnan.
An individual Blessing of the Relic given to Fr Michael by St Carlo’s Mother will be available after the Mass.
(Please note the Mass in Ballybacon that Weekend will take place on Saturday 2nd May at 6.30pm and there will be no Evening Mass in Ardfinnan that day)
GOOD SHEPHERD SUNDAY COLLECTION
The Good Shepherd Sunday Collection for the Education of Priests will take place next weekend – on 25th /26th April
Envelopes are available this weekend and are in the Weekly Envelope Boxes/
The seminary cost for each student is in the region of €30,000. Happily, we have three students at present. Please pray that more will respond if God is calling.
REFLECTION ON TODAYS GOSPEL
When we read today’s Gospel, we may be surprised to learn that these friends of Jesus could walk and converse with him at some length yet not recognize him. Again we discover that the risen Jesus is not always easily recognized. Cleopas and the other disciple walk with a person whom they believe to be a stranger; only later do they discover that the stranger is Jesus. We learn that the first community met and recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread, just as we meet Jesus in the Eucharist every time we go to Mass.
